Located in Bad Cannstatt, Kur Park was founded in the early
part of the 19th century. This is a very nice, well-kept park
with many old trees.
The Cannstatt Mineral Bath
is located on the edge of the park, as is the Kursaal,
which once served as public swimming pools.
This small castle, designed in the classical period, has a
fountain in its courtyard (Gottlieb-Daimler
Spring and Wilhelm Fountain) and was built during the
time King Wilhelm I was in power.
Today, the Kursaal is used for conferences and events; it
has a restaurant and a nearby beer garden serves as a source
of entertainment through its open air events and jazz concerts.
Not far from the Kursaal is the Gottlieb Daimler Memorial.
The life and the work of the inventor is documented here and
models of the first motors and vehicles can be seen.
