The Erbsen Fountain in Bad Cannstatt was constructed in
1929 by Fritz von Graevenitz. As the location of this
fountain was once the only source of fresh water, the
water was used for the preparation of legumes such as
peas ('Erbsen' is the German word for peas).
The Erbsen Fountain is fed by the Keller Spring and is
located in the middle of the Marktstraße, the
popular pedestrian zone in Bad Cannstatt that is home
to many retail stores, wine taverns, ice cream shops,
etc.
