For telephone calls from abroad to Stuttgart, first dial + 49 711 . "+
" is the international access code of the country where the call originates
for Germany,
most of which are 00. The 0 bevore the city or mobile phone dialing code
is dropped if calling from abroad .

When telephoning from Germany it is possible to choose between diferent long distance
telephone companies.

Most public telephones belong to Deutsche Telekom. It st not possible to choose another
telephone company from these telephones.
Public phones need for charging an fee-imulse that is only supported by Deutsche Telekom
but normally not by private phone companies.
Therefore from most hotel telephones private provider cannot be selected usually.
Most public phones work with Telephoncards (Bonuscards), available for 12 or 50 DM e.g. at
all Post offices.
Coin-phones accepting coins exist, but
are hard to find.

The maximum spped limit for motor vehicles with snow chains, also under
