The Stuttgart
Beer Festival takes places every year for about 14 to 16 days at the
Cannstatter Wasen in Bad Cannstatt.
It started around 1818 when King Wilhelm I sponsered the festival
after years of hunger. Today, this festival is the second largest
beer festival in Germany, right after the Oktoberfest in Munich. Live
bands play in the beer tents, there are many carnival rides to try
out - not to mention the fair food and the specialities such as candied
almonds. The ferris wheel is always a big attraction at this festival.

The Spring Beer Festival is a little bit smaller than the beer festival
in the fall. It also takes place every year for about three weeks
at the 'Wasen' in Bad Cannstatt.
