Solitude Palace

The Palace Solitude was built between 1763 and 1767 on behalf of Herzog Carl Eugen. The architecture and layout of the premises was created in a style between rococo and classic. The ceiling paintings and the frescoes in the basement were created by Nicolas Guibal.

Today, the Akademie Schloß Solitude is located here and provides residency programs for artists seeking material, organizational and spiritual support.
