General Information:
In order to borrow books from the library you will need to obtain a identification card, this you can obtain from counter 3 within the entrance hall. To obtain this identification card you will have to complete an application form, provide some form of identification (e.g. Passport), provide proof of address. For foreigners a copy of the residence permit (Anmeldebestätigung) will also have to produced. Tourists passing through Stuttgart can obtain a temporary identification card by showing their passport or personal identification card. By the registration the library must obtain a series of personal information, which are important in order to allow lending of books and for statistical reasons.
